First aid training for free
I love my job! Yes I’m here to help my practices fulfil their CPD requirements but I also love to teach first aid and empower people to know what to do in an emergency.
Therefore I’m happy to share my knowledge. For the second time this year I had a stall on the Buxton Spring fair and I also do free or not-for-profit sessions for organised groups. I’ve recently taught members of the Buxton Athletic club, Chinley guides and I went to Chinley Primary School and taught 53 children aged 10-11, not all at one time! I’ve also donated a session to the Anchor at Tideswell who are fundraising for the local Air Ambulance. Where I live this is an invaluable resource for transporting the critically ill safely and quickly.
I always hope that the people I teach might share something they learnt with someone else and that helps to spread the word further. Simple skills save lives and it doesn’t take long to learn.
I offer 1 ½-2 hour sessions and cover CPR in adults, choking in children and adults, the recovery position and then depending on time we can also cover CPR in children and the use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator).
You need a venue large enough for people to work on the floor at the same time but I can manage a group of up to 12 so it depends on the space you have available. Whilst willing to do these sessions for free, donations towards my equipment/consumables and travel are always welcome.
If you or a group you’re involved with would be interested in organising one of these sessions then please contact me. I have 2-3 sessions available per month so be sure to book early.
