Combined Adult and Paediatric ILS for Dental Sedation Teams

What you will achieve and receive

The Combined Adult and Paediatric Immediate Life Support (ILS) for Dental Sedation teams course provides the essential CPD elements for Dental teams offering IV and Inhalation sedation, as recommended by the Advisory Committees and organisations.

Each delegate receives a certificate from Orchard Training Services that is valid for a year.  You also receive regular follow ups and updates to ensure your team are kept up-to-date with the latest changes from the Resuscitation Council (UK).

Who should attend this course?

Following the Standards for Dental Sedation in 2015 we have developed a combined Adult and Paediatric ILS course for Dentists and Dental Sedation teams.  The course includes age and environment appropriate content to enable you and your team to meet the required standards.

The standards were clarified in December 2015 which state the following:-

What level of life support training does the sedation team need?

“Practitioners must be able to provide age-appropriate immediate life support as defined by the main elements of the Resuscitation Council (UK) ILS and PILS training programmes. It is not essential to undertake a Resuscitation Council (UK) accredited ILS/PILS course. Alternative courses with equivalent content which are adapted to the needs of dental practice are acceptable: these might also include the management of common sedation, medical and dental emergencies.”

  • Adult and Paediatric airway management
  • Adult and Paediatric CPR
  • Use of an AED in Adults and Paediatrics

The course has proved very popular and you can read some of the comments from people who have attended below.

Course duration

This is a one day course from 8:30am arrival to 5:00pm.  We aim to use venues that can provide overnight accommodation to offer our delegates flexibility if travelling.

Who delivers the course?

To deliver this course Helen has joined forces with Anne Shepherd to bring you a tailor made Immediate Life Support course for the dental sedation team.  We are both Resuscitation Council certified instructors and teach regularly on Advanced and Immediate Life Support courses.  What this means for you is that you can be guaranteed that our knowledge and teaching is of a sufficient level to be teaching ILS.

As well as our NHS work we both provide medical emergency and CPR training to Dental Practices and have done for many years. We therefore understand your learning need and your working environment.

Below you’ll see some of the comments that previous attendees have written. We have had great reviews for the content and the delivery of the course and always have a fun day.

Here some comments from previous delegates…
