First Aid training for Dentists

When I’m training I’m often asked about First Aid and about First Aid courses for Dentists.  I’m a specialist provider of CPR training for Dentists and a registered centre with Qualsafe Awards to deliver all First Aid courses.

It’s important that even if you complete an annual update on medical emergencies and CPR to recognise that this is not the same as First Aid.  As an employer it’s important to ensure that you’re compliant with HSE regulations also.  If you’re unsure what your obligations are please use my calculator which will send you an in-depth personal report of your needs.  It will tell you which standard of First Aid kit and what level of training you require and can be kept for your records.

Since the deregulation of First Aid courses by the HSE the onus is on the organisation to carry out their own due diligence.  An easier way to meet these requirements is to use a provider that is registered with a qualifying body such as Qualsafe Awards.  As I’m a registered centre they carry out quality assurance and have ensured I meet the qualifications to be able to teach and assess First Aid courses.  It is now incorrect of any training provider to claim they are an HSE approved provider, the HSE offers independent advice on choosing a training provider which you may also find useful.

As a minimum in the workplace you need an appointed person and a First Aid kit; then depending on the level of risk in your workplace will determine if you need the one day Emergency First Aid at Work or the three day First Aid at Work.

I have both courses available in January and February 2015 in Darley Dale in Derbyshire, please contact me for more information.
